Proficiency in Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PSSR) STCW 2010

The STCW Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities course is set up to offer seafarers a basic introduction in safety procedures and accident prevention. It provides candidates with knowledge of what the proper employment conditions and working environments on board merchant vessels should be. The STCW certificate will be awarded following a short exam.

  • Understand and take necessary actions to control fatigue
  • Pollution prevention
  • Shipboard duties and responsibilities
  • Social responsibility

Prerequisites

  1. Must be over 16 years of age.
  2. Photographic ID (A Government issued, photographic proof of identity on the day of the course and this should take the form of either a valid Passport or a driving license or a valid discharge book).

Certification

Once completed, successful delegates will be awarded with an approved STCW Proficiency in Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PPSSR) certificate, after a short examination.

 Revalidation

Every 5 Years
